A LEGO® brick diorama inspired by maps from the RTS videogames StarCraft and StarCraft II measured 4.267 metres (14 feet) x 0.762 metres (2.5 feet), and was built to an approximate scale of 1:125, resulting in a sprawling 1:1-scale size of roughly 51,000 square metres (550,000 square feet). It was developed across a period of three years by eight LEGO® enthusiasts hailing from Canada, USA, Norway and Belgium. They were: Bart De Dobbelaer (Belgium), Cecilie Fritzvold (Norway), Simon Liu (Canada), Sean and Steph Mayo (USA), John Moffat (Canada), Chris Perron (Canada) and Tim Schwalfenberg (Canada).

The StarCraft II diorama is loosely based on several "Space Platforms" maps from the first two StarCraft games, with each of the game's three races portrayed across some 300 battle units and buildings. It was finally displayed at a LEGO® convention in June 2015.

"This took about 3 years in the making, though the first 2.5 years was slow and was spent designing the units," explained Simon Liu, one of the diorama's creators. "We would each go away to try to come up with a design, [which we would] share with each other and try to make perfect before we started mass production. The last 6 months involved mainly going out to buy LEGO® to create the units and of course the massive 'map' that acted as backdrop."
